Welcome Friends!

"The more we get together the happier we'll be"

Wednesday

28 March

Creative play with wooden nesting shapes (from Nova Naturals) and our new wire and felt "pocket dolls" (from Magic Cabin)

These two were watching our new little chicks almost all morning

Outside, we hung up our new clear-backed bird house on the classroom window, and filled all the feeders. Here's hoping some lucky birds discover this prime piece of real estate.

Then the children played for a long time on the slide. They took turns sliding down for awhile, then some wanted to go up, which I told them was not safe to do when someone was coming down.  Then they all started going the same way at the same time. They were all being so careful to watch out for their friends that I didnt stop them, even though we usually have a one person at a time rule on the slide. After they realized how hard it was to get up the slide on their own, they started helping each other, with one person on each side, holding the hands of the friend who was climbing up. These moments of cooperative play are golden.

When we came inside everyone wanted to hold a chick.
