Welcome Friends!

"The more we get together the happier we'll be"

Thursday

11 January

There just has not been enough time in the morning lately for these busy children. Breakfast keeps getting later and later because they don't want to stop working in the classroom.

"Where are her pants?"

Keeping the chalkboard clean

At story time the last few days, the children chose, among other books, The Sneetches by Dr Suess.
H. especially likes the parts with the machines:
"So they clambered inside. Then the big machine roared
And it klonked. And it bonked. And it jerked. And it berked
And it bopped them about. But the thing really worked"
And A. likes this tounge twisting rhyme:
They kept paying money. They kept running through
Until neither the Plain nor the star Bellies knew
Whether this one was that one... or that one was this one
Or which one was what one...or what one was who.
Today, since I recently re-located my misplaced star-stamper, we punched out many green stars. Some children glued them to paper, and some drew Sneetches and glued them on their bellies.

We have been encorporating some fun yoga songs into our morning circle. The children have started asking to sing the elephant and crab songs regularly. These songs are from Shakta Kaur Khalsa's cd, Children's Yoga Songs and Meditations. It introduces Kundalini Yoga to children in a playful and joyful way.
